The Attributes of God
With so many religions and winds of doctrine that surround us, its crucial that we understand well who God is in order to prevent falling into doctrinal error. God can best be understood, not by his actions or his (apparent) emotions, but by His attributes as revealed to us in Scripture. One of the best books on this topic is The Attributes of God by A. W. Pink, who states, The foundation of all true knowledge of God must be a clear mental apprehension of His perfections as revealed in Holy
This book probably deserves more than 3 stars. It is very helpful, with chapters short enough to be read as a devotional. It is probably one of the best places to start on the topic of God's attributes. Additionally, Pink is a trustworthy guide and does not shy away from many of the hard and discomforting aspects of God's holy character. I give it three stars simply because Pink's writing is somewhat challenging and clunky at points (perhaps more my fault more than his). Additionally, many of
Over a year later... haha. It was good, just slow to go through, which might've been good to to make you ponder more.
This book was completely saturated with Scripture, and it was God-centered!
Great book! I appreciate the reformed theme woven through the book. Short chapters were easy to finish in a bus ride to work.
When I turn my thoughts toward the full counsel of God, my mind is overwhelmed. I realize what a nano speck I am compared to this amazing Sovereign God. A.W. Pink brings you to the throne room of heaven with his book about God's sovereignty, goodness, faithfulness, foreknoweldge, holiness, love, and wrath etc. I realize as a finite creature that I would never choose a holy God who is honest with man about himself as revealed in scripture. This is why I am so thankful He chose me before time

The foundation of our knowledge of God rests upon knowing what he is like. Without understanding God's attributes, we have a skewed perception of him--often one cast in our own image. We need more than just a theoretical knowledge of God in order to worship him as he desires. This classic work of Arthur W. Pink invites readers to discover the truth about seventeen attributes of God, including his sovereignty, immutability, patience, love, faithfulness, and much more. Pink shows readers a God who is alive, all-powerful, and active in his creation. The perfect introductory text, The Attributes of God also has enough depth and meat to satisfy the more experienced reader.Details Books Supposing The Attributes of God

Excellent book on the attributes of God. It was very readable and he quoted freely from some of the greats like Charles Spurgeon and Stephen Charnock. It was understandable and not dry reading. Highly recommend! I also really liked the article at the end of the book, "Are You Born Again?" by J.C.
