Ok so I won't lie there were times I wanted to tear my hair out reading this. The love triangle aggravated the hell out of me. I absolutely am cheering for Sam! Oh that ending could not have been any better! Looking forward to the next book. After losing his father to a heart attack, he decides it's time to make a fresh start in Hawaii with his Uncle Frank. Where no one knows "Mad Max", about the accident that took his sister Mia, or his mother leaving. He hopes to finish his last year of high school with a clean slate. On route to his new home, he's almost run over twice and picks up a stray dog - who tries to save Max and ends up hurt in the process. Using his new found gift, he saves the little wiener dog and has a new best friend
Am I the only one who didn't love this book? The cover is great, though.First things first. The commas. As I've said before, I found the lack of commas disturbing. Every time I read something which needed a comma but there's none, I wanted to freaking bang my head in the wall. Idk if it's just from my ebook or not. Most likely it's the former because would they publish a book with a lack of commas? I don't think so. Still, my it irritated me.Max. Ah, Max. He's really a two-timing guy with
Maxs life hasnt been easy with the ability he holds. His mother left him and his dad passed away. Hes moved to Hawaii to live with his uncle. New school, new friends, new life is all Max can think about until he meets Asia. Everyone fears Asia and the rumors are all around. She has abilities as well and is shunned at the school he thinks she should be going to. Sam is the girl that her dad works with his uncle for. Shes a beautiful girl that pulls him into a safe direction that he has never felt
The main character of the story is Max, who has a HOT temper, literally! He falls for 2 girls at once. Can you love more than one person with all your heart and soul? This is something Max must ask himself numerous times, after having his heart broken more than once. Each girl does their damage, in more ways than one. Theres something different about Max, quite interesting in fact. And he manages to find his balance from each girl, in different ways. Asia is who he falls for first, and she is
I really liked the premise of this book, and moreso the fact that it was written in a male POV. But that is about it, unfortunately. There was way too much repetition in this book. If I read about anymore lightening or thunder, I thought I might lose it. I understood why it was there, but wow! It was just overdone. It would make for a great drinking game, however ~ take a shot every time thunder is written. You'd be drunk by page 10. I also didn't care for the fact that Max was so undecided
I was really excited to start reading Ember, not only because of the great buzz, but because it's setting is in the place where I grew up... Maui, Hawaii. It was awesome to actually know, and have been to the locations mentioned. And, my hubby is a graduate of Maui High School! Lol :) First off...I loved how it has a male MC. I haven't read too many novels where the lead is a male character, but it was a very nice change. This is a story about a boy, who has a deadly secret. One he's been
