Honestly, until the ending this was more of a 1.5* read.If this wasn't the final instalment of a series, I would have just DNF'd it. This book was just rife with unnecessary drama. Nearly all the characters were unlikeable to some extent, and the entire 400 pages was just a cycle of Uncle Joel moaning about sinning, Bart being a twat, Cindy getting butt-hurt, Melodie being an awful wife, Jory and Cathy being sad, and Chris always being late for the gossip. The ending however, moved me, and was aIn the final novel that depicts the chronological progress of this most unique family unit, V.C. Andrews offers the reader even more insight into the ways the Dollangangers have become intertwined and how these connections create unforeseen offshoots that rattle the familial foundation. Only two books left to cover in this series, and this one is probably going to be the most difficult to write about. Why difficult? Because it sucked. Seriously. This book was terrible. Obviously none of this is realistic, so I absolutely love when things start getting scandalous and exciting. If There Be Thorns was hopelessly disappointing and I'm glad that Seeds of Yesterday seems a bit more like V.C. Andrews. it's not like there are any new sorts of characters, really.
