Weigh Up Regarding Books Scott Pilgrim, Volume 2: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Scott Pilgrim #2)

I gave it two volumes and I've failed to get into it. The art has improved a little since the first volume, with deliberately different hair styles and more usage of upper torsos on-panel so clothing can help distinguish the characters. But that art is still conveying flat humor (he doesn't like doing push-ups - har) and an indulgently long story about a guy fighting his new girlfriend's exes. Two volumes in, I have no idea why he has to fight them. Are they going to come after him relentlessly

3,5 starsI liked the first book a little bit more but this was quick and funny too. I'm pretty sure that I will read all the books of this series but I'm taking a break from it. I will try to pick the next book in the next months.

The first volume was not that great to begin with, but this second one was even worse. The plot was all over the place and really absurd. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue on with the series.

Now on the second volume of my Scott Pilgrim reread.The second chapter is still good but I'm reminded that Scott spent a lot of time here feeling the gut punch of an ex-girlfriend calling on phone. It is as bad as it sounds, as it rendered our hero into a fetal position barely able to make audible sound. Scott didn't even get to punch the second ex Ramona boyfriend.It makes it up though in the final canto of this volume. The trio receiving a few revelations was a hoot. Knives dumbstruck at the

Our son David dragged us to see the movie on Saturday. Elisabeth slumbered fitfully, waking up occasionally to see if it was getting any better and generally deciding it wasn't. I thought it was interesting at an abstract level, and I found several scenes funny or sexy, but I had to admit that I couldn't really appreciate it. I also felt rather sleepy at times.
