Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where the girls are dazzling, the guys are gorgeous, and the summer heat is the perfect excuse to throw a fabulous roof-deck pool party. As if we need a reason! It's our last summer together before heading off to college, and things are sizzling -- no, it's not just the weather. Despite that steamy kiss on graduation night, Blair, Serena, and Nate have gone their separate ways...though not for long. Blair is off to London with her English Lord boyfriend, Serena's about to become a movie star -- as if she wasn't a star already! -- and Nate's rolling up his well-worn khakis and heading to the Hamptons. Back in New York, Dan and Vanessa are rekindling their love. Fiery! Watch out, this summer is going to be hotter than ever.Rating Epithetical Books Only in Your Dreams (Gossip Girl #9)

In Only in Your Dreams a Gossip Girl Novel by Cecily von Ziegesar, Serena and Blair have quite a summer! Serena is staring in her first movie, a remake of Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Blair is staying in London with her royal boyfriend. Dan and Nate also have interesting plans for the summer. Dan is working at a poetry store and Nate is working in the Hamptons for his coach. They all may be separated around the world, but the drama between them never fades. When reunited, things get crazy! INate Archibald is really out here proving that fuckwit is an actual personality trait
This is by far my least favorite book in the entire series. It's the culmination of many ridiculous story lines (even for this series) with Serena's starring role in a major motion picture, Blair's tryst with a British Lord, and the boring repercussions of Nate stealing his lax coach's Viagra.
I really dislike this one! I can't see why showing us the misbehaviour of spoiled teenagers is interesting. If it was there to serve a plot, it would be OK. But talking about it just for the pleasure of talking about it seems just silly to me!
School's out and it's summer! Nate is in the Hampton's working for Coach because he got caught stealing his prescription and now has to work to get his diploma in time to attend Yale in the fall. Serena is the star of a new movie, Breakfast at Fred's but she's having a hard time getting into her character. Blair is in London with Lord Marcus but he continues to blow her off and ignore her because his cousin is visiting. She finally leaves London to go back home and she gets a job in fashion. Dan
I felt like very little happened in this book. I also found some continuity errors and typos. One of the things that annoys me about Serena, Nate, and Blair is that they sometimes seem so dissociative and vapid in their thinking...like thinking is just soooo hard and they can't quite wrap their brains around something obvious. They feel annoyed, confused, or unsettled, but because they don't like the unpleasant feeling, their brains circumvent thoughts that would lead to that feeling.I just
These books are very entertaining, but the plot is SO repetitive.
