Brook Eden has never known where she truly belongs. When her friend Justin uncovers the fact that she is possibly a missing heiress from Yorkshire, Brook leaves the sun of the Mediterranean to travel to the moors of the North Sea and the estate of her supposed family.

The mystery of her mother's death haunts her, and though her father is quick to accept her, the rest of the family and the servants of Whitby Park are not. Only when Brook's life is threatened do they draw close—but will their loyalty come too late to save Brook from the same threat that led to tragedy for her mother?

As heir to a dukedom, Justin is no stranger to balancing responsibilities. When the matters of his estate force him far from Brook, the distance between them reveals that their friendship has grown into something much more. But how can their very different loyalties and responsibilities ever come together?

And then for a second time, the heiress of Whitby Park is stolen away because of the very rare treasure in her possession—and those who can save her still aren't sure whom to trust.

Critique Appertaining To Books The Lost Heiress (Ladies of the Manor #1)
This book took me a long time to read. Part of that may have been my mood but there are so many characters and the plot is thick with a mysterious backstory so I think that was a big part of why it took me so long. There is a list of characters at the start but I still felt confused in parts. I am not really a fan of the evil villain lurking and deceiving in so many scenes. A little of that goes a long way with me. My favorite thing was the passion and chemistry the author was able to pen

I'm a huge fan of Roseanna White's--I've read and adored every single one of her novels and novellas. I'm so glad I recently read The Lost Heiress; it was just as amazing as I thought it would be!Brook is just the kind of heroine I love having for a friend for a few hundred pages; and there were several hundred pages worth of her story to enjoy. Not that I'm complaining. By the time I reached the last quarter of the book, I didn't want it to end. But at the same time, I wanted to know the answer

Combining historical characters and a fictional cast, White brilliantly captures the emotions, fears, and faith of a nobody-turned-duchess. Life as the duchess, however, was not all a joyous reunion. Trouble soon finds Brooke--is it somehow linked to her mother's mysterious death? I give 5+ stars for the brilliant writing of this book. In just the first chapter I was awed at the ease and flow of the words, the imagery captured. According to my preference, this was probably one of the

My sister recommended this book to me and I was not disappointed. I loved the historical setting and all the things that were brought in from that. Like the cars. *grins* as I girl learning to drive, I could totally relate to Brook wanting to learn. I didn't expect this to be that tense near the end, so that came as a bit of a surprise! But I still loved it. There were only two things that put me off from the story (thus one star off) was the romance was a bit much sometimes. There were some

Author Roseanna M. White begins her "Ladies of the Manor" series with "The Lost Heiress", an Inspirational Historical Romance set in the early twentieth century. Although her childhood is spent in the royal palace of Monaco, Brook Eden bears a British birthright with uncertain origins. Raised by the royal family, the Grimaldis, Brook was once thought to be the illegitimate daughter of Prince Louis, heir to the throne, and opera diva Collette Sabatini. After that assumption proves false, mystery

I'm in love with this book! The Lost Heiress by Roseanna M. White was so good. Set during 1910 (think Downton Abbey), it's a intriguing tale of thrilling mystery and heartwarming romance. I adored it so much! With snatches of humor and moments of soul-stirring faith, it kept captured my attention and delighted my bookish heart! ^_^ Not to mention, the book itself (cover, etc.) are gorgeous!I can hardly wait to read The Reluctant Duchess, Book Two in this series, LADIES OF THE MANOR!
