I would declare war for you. This story started off with a bang but thereafter was missing something. Perhaps a better back story or Carter's pov from the past? The I love Yous felt like they were out of nowhere for where these two were and are with one another. It could be that added depth from the characters was needed but I just wasnt connected with the two main characters in the slightest.
