Theres something about Cecelia Aherns writing. Every time Ive picked up one of her books, its been exactly what Id been looking for - from the more fantastical to those more grounded in reality. The Year I Met You is exactly what I needed to read in this moment. A story of a career-driven woman, Jasmine, who finds herself fired from a company she helped build from the ground up. Who is she without her work? What does one do when they dont HAVE to do anything? Ive never been fired, but I haveat the beginning i was puzzled by all the feelings that jasmine had against the world and by all this anger that she holds against everyone and everybody around her. when she started repairing her garden and matt repairing his life, i started feeling a little better.three things i loved about this book, that although there was no romance between matt and jasmine he helped her and she helped him enormously.... second the highlight on the conflict that jasmine had against matt, and the fact that
I'm a real fan of Celia Ahern and I usually get excited about the releases of her new books, This book was a real disappointment. I was waiting for something to happen, but it never did.
The Year I Met You is the second book which I read of Cecelia Ahern's and to be frank this one didnt move me like the previous one P.S. I love You What I love most about Cecelia Aherns novels is that they arent predictable and they arent always about love in its most obvious form, but this one is something different which just shattered everything..This book is a journey of self-discovery for Jasmine. She dislikes neighbour Matt, for many reasons & something starts to happen that means
I am biased when it comes to Cecelia's books and I am aware of that. All of her books will always hold a special place in my heart. However, I was confused with events concerning Monday (did not really expect/care for them to end up together) and I missed Jasmine's reconciliation with Heather. Still, I liked the midnight conversations in the garden and I laughed out loud at Jasmine's breaking and entering in the last part of the novel.
Actual rating: 3.5 stars 'The Year I Met You' is my second Cecilia Ahern book. Last year I read 'How To Fall In Love' and, well, I absolutely fell in love. With the book itself. And a little bit with Cecilia for giving us such a wonderful gift.
