Auracle
When there's a fatal accident and her classmate Taylor takes over Anna's body, what was an exhilarating distraction from her repressive home life threatens to become a permanent state. Faced with a future trapped in another dimension, Anna turns to Rei for help. Now the two of them must find a way to get Anna back into her body and stop Taylor from accusing an innocent friend of murder. Together Anna and Rei form a plan but it doesn't take into account the deeper feelings that are beginning to grow between them.
Auracle is one of the best YA novels I've read in a good long while and will definitely be going on my favorite reads for 2015 list. Astral travel is cool, handy and exciting, yet, Anna finds out how it can also be extremely dangerous, especially with dead enemies in the vicinity.A truly good story should hook the reader from the start and this is what Auracle did for me. Anna popping out of her body and over to an erupting volcano most certainly got my attention right away. From that point on
Though this book had a unique and very promising premise, I was personally underwhelmed with the result. First off, there's a lot of slut-shaming going on. Taylor is constantly mocked for wearing revealing clothing, and our protagonist even dislikes it when at one point Taylor wears jeans and a "sleazy top." And yet, when Rei and Seth walk around shirtless after a run, they're not criticized a bit. I'm not usually a fan of books that send the message that women embracing their sexuality are
I just have to stop... pe. It looked like it may be decent at first. Didn't happen.DNF at 12 pages... that's right TWELVE PAGES!!!! Why stop at 12 pages you may ask? because after just 12 pages I realized just how STUPID this book would be. I don't know why, it was just all dumb. Take my word for it. There are absolutely NO VAMPIRES either. When I picked up this book it looked like a vampire romance book... but like there is NOTHING RELATING TO VAMPIRES!! I mean how can someone write a book and
Anna has always been able to astrally project herself. It's always been fun to visit exotic places, but a major problem occurs when Anna decides to spy on her friend Seth, who's been coerced into meeting a vicious girl named Taylor at the waterfalls. Taylor ends up plummeting to her death over the falls, and when Anna returns to her body, she discovers that her body is already occupied. By Taylor. Life as a projection of herself comes with some problems, like how to communicate, but her best
Auracle is a very cute and sweet book that, thanks to Goodreads, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of. I really enjoyed Auracle but I also found it lacking in many areas. It was very rated G and I feel like I would have enjoyed it much more if I was younger. The plot is unique and it has a very innocent, light feel to it. It has a slower pace than what I usually prefer but still held my interest fairly well. I love the idea of the book and Im a huge astrophysics and theoretical physics nerd,
Utterly original and refreshing, Auracle is a breath of fresh air with its addicting premise full of riveting turns. This was even more so in my case where I hadn't read the synopsis in ages and, therefore, had no idea what I was getting into, causing me to be shocked by the actual premise itself. It absolutely thrilled me.Since I'm hoping you all get the same exciting experience of going in blind I won't bring up the primary plot line, but work my way around it. What I can safely tell you, is

★★★½The plot related to aural projection is surely innovative, sort of like a redo version of Insidious. However, I felt that some things were added only for the plot and did not have any proper reason or explanation. Like the theory about the Heavenly Light, it is a convenient if not wholly rational idea, but thats just my own opinion. The thing or rather, the character that I absolutely failed to like is Anna. She lies and hides things from Rei if she thinks he'll be angry or mad, basicallyAuracle is one of the best YA novels I've read in a good long while and will definitely be going on my favorite reads for 2015 list.
